BOSTON -- In a meet that saw six world leads set, it was the women’s distance medley relay that reigned supreme. Bettering the world record that was set two years ago at this meet, 2016 Olympians Emma Coburn (Crested Butte, Colorado), Sydney McLaughlin (Dunellen, New Jersey), Brenda Martinez (Rancho Cucamonga, California) and Jenny Simpson (Oviedo, Florida) teamed up to break the DMR world record at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in 10:40.31.

Ito leads Japanese hopes - OSAKA (JPN): World marathon seventh-placer Mai Ito leads the Japanese hopes at the Osaka International Women's Marathon on 29 January, informs Japan Running News. Ito has a 2:24:42 PB and a good showing will put her in contention for a place on the Japanese team for the World Championships in London this August. Other domestic contenders include former winner Risa Shigetomo (2:23:23) and last year’s runner-up Misato Horie (2:26:40). Two-Time World Champion Bernard Lagat first to commit to world’s largest 10K in 2017 - ATLANTA – January 11, 2017 – The USA 10K champion will be named on Independence Day as the men’s and women’s USATF 10 km Championships return to Atlanta at the 2017 AJC Peachtree Road Race. One of the most decorated middle distance runners in history, Bernard Lagat, will join other top U.S. athletes to  kick off Atlanta’s July 4th celebrations alongside the 60,000 participants of the world’s largest 10K.
