The 2017 women’s field, topped by two-time London Marathon champion Mary Keitany, is one of the strongest ever assembled for a major city marathon.

Ethiopian legend Kenenisa Bekele tops the list of world class contenders for the men’s elite race. Already a triple Olympic champion and double world record holder on the track, Bekele became the world’s second fastest marathon runner of all time when he won the 2016 Berlin Marathon last September.

De Grasse against a top field - WALNUT (USA): The 59th MtSAC Relays in Walnut this weekend is having in start lists some top names and clashes. In the 100 m invitational Olympic medalist Andre de Grasse is scheduled to run against Grenada winner Mike Rodgers, indoor World leader Ronnie Baker, Briton CJ Ujah and 200 m Olympian Ameer Webb. Another Rio medalist Clayton Murphy is in the 800 m with Duaine Solomon and Erik Sowinski. World record holder Aries Merritt should be in the 110 m Hurdles with Aleec Harris. Australian Fabrice Lapierre is in long jump.

BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced an elite field of world class competitors for the 2017 B.A.A. 5K and B.A.A. Invitational Mile, to be held on Saturday, April 15, two days prior to the 2017 Boston Marathon®. Rhode Island’s Molly Huddle and New Hampshire’s Ben True will return to Boston each aiming to earn their fourth B.A.A. 5K titles.

Kiprop, C. Kipruto, Harrison vs Rollins - DOHA (QAT): Three-time world 1500m champion Asbel Kiprop is confirmed for the 1500m at the Doha Diamond League on 5 May where he will face teammates Silas Kiplagat and Elijah Manangoi. Olympic 3000m steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto will contest the 3000m flat against Olympic 5000m silver medallist Paul Chelimo and Ethiopians Hagos Gebrhiwet and world indoor champion Yomif Kejelcha. World record-holder Kendra Harrison goes head-to-head with Olympic champion Brianna Rollins in the 100m hurdles with Nia Ali, Cindy Ofili and European champion Cindy Roleder also in the field.

Sam Chelanga, in his UAE Healthy Kidney 10K debut, edged out second place finisher Thomas Longosiwa of Kenya by just 64 hundredths of a second to win the race - NEW YORK  (April 9, 2017)—U.S. athlete, Sam Chelanga, won the 13th annual UAE Healthy Kidney 10K on Sunday, April 9, in Central Park in 28:21. Mamitu Daska, of Ethiopia, finished first for the women in 31:37.

Allan Kiprono and Fate Tola are the winners of the HAJ Hannover Marathon. In what is his biggest career win the Kenyan clocked 2:09:52 in fine but relatively warm weather conditions. Fellow-Kenyan Philip Sanga snatched second place from Norway’s Sondre Moen in the final metres of the race. Both runners were timed with 2:10:07. Moen’s time is a Norwegian record.
