Rudisha undergoes ankle surgery

Two-time Olympic 800m champion David Rudisha underwent surgery in Eldoret, Kenya, today after sustaining a fracture in his ankle last week. The injury is expected to sideline the world record-holder for 12-16 weeks.

World Athletics -Ryan Crouser has long been a handyman. Since hanging out in his grandfather’s work shed as a youngster, the Olympic shot put champion has had a keen interest in DIY and he recently called upon that passion to build his own shot circle.

While the Covid-19 outbreak has prevented Wanda Diamond League meetings from going ahead in their usual fashion, the Oslo Bislett Games has created a unique clash between Team Ingebrigtsen and Team Cheruiyot as part of the ‘Impossible Games’ on 11 June.

Double European champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen took nine seconds off the Norwegian 5km road record on Wednesday (20), clocking 13:28 in a low-key race in Stavanger.

(USATF) - INDIANAPOLIS -- Brian Oldfield (Elgin, Illinois) set an American record in the men’s shot put on May 16, 1981 and was voted by fans as winner of the eighth USATF Throwback Athlete of the Week award, edging out Tom Petranoff. In the absence of competition during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are taking a weekly look back at some of the great efforts by American track and field athletes through the years.

ATLANTA – May 15, 2020 -- Atlanta Track Club will attempt to cover 100,000 new miles on Global Running Day by calling on Running City USA to experience running and walking in a way they never have before.  The Club unveiled a series of running and walking challenges to commemorate the day.
